Do I get Etsy Offsite Ads fees refunded if I cancel an order?

I run an Etsy shop and I need to cancel an order that was attributed to an Offsite Ad. I’m not sure whether Etsy still keeps the Offsite Ad fee when an order is canceled and refunded.

If I cancel the sale through Etsy and issue a full refund, will the Offsite Ad fee be returned automatically, or do I need to do anything else to get it back?

Hi! If you cancel the order through Etsy and issue a full refund, Etsy should automatically credit back the fees tied to that order—and that typically includes the Offsite Ads fee as a credit in your Payment account once the cancellation finishes processing (it can take a little time to fully settle).

A couple quick “gotchas” to make sure it refunds cleanly:

  • Do a full refund AND cancel the order (a refund by itself doesn’t always fully void the transaction—make sure the order ends up marked Cancelled).
  • Give it a bit of time: cancellations can take up to ~48 hours to fully process, and the fee credits may show after that in Shop Manager → Finances → Payment account as separate credit lines.

If you don’t see the Offsite Ads fee credited back after the cancellation is fully processed, that’s when you’d want to reach out to Etsy Support with the date of the cancellation (no need to do anything special before that besides refund + cancel inside Etsy).
