How do I change my Etsy Ads goal (not the ad strategy setting)?

I’m running Etsy Ads for my shop, and I want to update the Ads goal I originally selected. I can see the option to change my Etsy Ads strategy, but I can’t find where to edit the goal.

Where is the setting to update my Etsy Ads goal, and if it can’t be changed, what’s the best workaround?

Hi! On Etsy Ads there usually isn’t a separate, editable “Ads goal” setting you can manage the way you can change your Etsy Ads strategy. That “goal” you picked is (for many shops) either a one-time onboarding question or an Etsy test feature, and if you don’t currently see an “Update ad goals” prompt on your Etsy Ads page, you generally can’t force it to appear or edit it later.

If Etsy does still show it for your shop, it’s typically here on desktop:

  • Shop Manager → Marketing → Etsy Ads, then scroll down the main Etsy Ads page (often near the bottom / settings area) and look for something like “Update ad goals”.
If you don’t see it there on desktop, it’s not available on your account right now (and the Seller app often doesn’t show it even when desktop does).

Best workaround (what actually moves results):

  • Use the setting you can control: Ad strategy (that’s Etsy’s current “goal-like” lever in many accounts).
  • Adjust your advertised listings mix (push best converters, pause low-converting/high-cost listings).
  • Change daily budget and let changes run long enough to compare (at least a couple weeks if you can).
  • If your shop has it, use any cost controls Etsy provides (some shops see a max CPC option).

If you tell me whether you’re on desktop or the Seller app, and what strategies you’re seeing in your Ads dashboard, I can suggest the most practical strategy/listing mix for the goal you’re aiming for (more orders vs more visibility, etc.).
