How Much Money Can You Make Selling on Etsy?

I run an Etsy shop selling small wood craft bundles and live-edge slabs. Since late 2025, I haven’t been able to publish any new listings because I keep getting an error during the listing process (often when selecting a processing time), followed by a notice that the item was flagged as “restricted,” even though it’s just wood.
I opened a support case and have tried following up, but new requests keep getting merged into the same case and I still don’t have a clear response or resolution. I can still edit existing listings, fulfill orders, and message customers—only new listings won’t publish.
What should I do to get this resolved, and are there common reasons Etsy might mistakenly flag wood products as restricted?
Hi! This usually happens for one of two reasons: (1) Etsy’s automated filters are tripping on a word/phrase in your title/tags/materials (even if you’re selling plain wood), or (2) there’s a backend/account “publishing restriction” on your shop that only shows up when you try to activate a new listing (often right when you pick a processing time / processing profile). The fastest path is to rule out keyword-trigger flags first, then push Etsy to escalate the existing support ticket to the team that can remove the publishing block.
Here are the most common “wood” listing triggers I see that can cause a “restricted item” flag (even by mistake):
What I’d do (in this order) to get you unstuck:
If you want, paste one of your blocked listing titles + the first few lines of the description + your top 10 tags (no personal info), and I’ll help you spot any words that commonly trip Etsy’s restricted-item filters and suggest safer alternatives.
