Why does my Etsy payment account show a balance and £0 available for daily deposits?

I sell on Etsy and I’m set up for daily deposits. In my payment account, I’m seeing a current balance of £28.35, but the available amount to deposit shows as £0.00.

What could cause my balance to be nonzero while nothing is available for deposit, and where should I check to see if funds are on hold or scheduled for a later payout?

Hi! On Etsy it’s totally possible to have a non‑zero “Current balance” (like your £28.35) while “Available for deposit” is £0.00—it usually means that money exists in your Etsy Payments ledger, but it isn’t eligible to be paid out yet (because it’s still “not yet available,” in a reserve, or temporarily delayed).

Here are the most common causes:

  • Funds are “Not yet available” (timing delay): New sales don’t always become depositable immediately, even if you’re on daily deposits. If all £28.35 is sitting in “Not yet available,” your available amount can show £0.
  • Payment account reserve: Etsy may place a reserve (hold back a percentage and/or delay funds) on some shops. When that happens, your balance can go up, but available funds stay at £0 until the reserve releases.
  • Deposit delay / verification / bank change security hold: If you recently updated your bank details or Etsy needs seller/identity info confirmed, deposits can be paused or delayed even though the balance shows money is there.
  • Your balance is being offset by fees/charges at the same time: Listing fees, shipping labels, Etsy Ads, refunds, etc. can reduce what becomes available. (You can still see a positive current balance, but nothing left that’s eligible for payout yet if the rest is restricted/held.)

Where to check (this is the fastest way to pinpoint it):

  1. Shop Manager → Finances → Payment account

    • Look at the summary lines for Not yet available and (if shown) In reserve.
    • If Current balance ≈ Not yet available + in reserve, that explains why Available for deposit is £0.
  2. In the same area, open the Deposits / Payouts section (or scroll to deposit info)

    • You should see whether a deposit is scheduled, processing, paused, or if there’s a message explaining a delay.
  3. Shop Manager → Finances → Payment settings

    • Confirm your deposit schedule is still “daily” and check whether Etsy is prompting you to verify/update anything related to payouts.

If you tell me whether your Payment account shows an amount for “Not yet available” or “In reserve” (no personal details—just the numbers), I can help you interpret exactly what’s happening in your case.
