How do I sell poster design variants or bundles in one Etsy listing?

I sell posters on Etsy and I’m trying to make it easier for buyers to choose options and purchase more than one item at a time.

Is there a way to set up a single listing with multiple design variants (so the buyer can pick between two poster designs), and can I offer a bundle option where they can select multiple posters in one purchase? If Etsy doesn’t support this directly, what’s the best workaround sellers use?

Hi! Yes—you can do “choose between two poster designs” in one Etsy listing using Variations, and you can offer a bundle in that same listing, but Etsy doesn’t really support a true “mix-and-match picker” (like selecting Design A + Design B + Design C as separate selections) in one clean interface, so most sellers use a simple workaround with a bundle variation + a required Personalization box.

If you only need two designs in one listing

  • In your Etsy listing, turn on Variations and make one variation something like “Design” (or “Style”) with options Design A and Design B.
  • Optional but helpful: link the listing photos to each variation option, so when they pick Design A, they see Design A images.

If you want buyers to buy a bundle (pick multiple posters) in one purchase
Etsy doesn’t let a buyer “select multiple designs” as separate line items inside one listing the way Shopify-style bundle builders do. The most common Etsy workaround is:

Variation 1: “Bundle”

  • Single poster
  • Set of 2
  • Set of 3
    (etc.)

Variation 2: “Size” (or finish, paper type, frame/no frame—whatever is truly consistent across the bundle)

Then add a required Personalization box that says something like:
“Write the designs you want (Example: Set of 2 = Design A + Design B). If you don’t write them, I’ll message you and it may delay processing.”

That’s the cleanest way to:

  • charge one bundle price,
  • let them check out once,
  • and still capture exactly which designs they want.

A few practical tips so it doesn’t get messy

  • Be super clear whether bundles must be the same size (recommended) or can mix sizes (harder to price/fulfill).
  • If you use POD (Printify/Gelato/etc.), double-check your workflow: Etsy will show it as one order line with quantity/bundle, so you’ll rely on the personalization text to know which designs to produce.
  • Put the bundle instructions in three places because many buyers won’t read: a photo slide, the first 1–2 lines of description, and the personalization prompt.

If you want a more “normal” buying experience (no typing)
The alternative most sellers use is to keep listings separate and encourage Add to cart, then run a shop discount (like “buy 2+ get X% off”) so buyers can mix-and-match naturally across your shop without needing a bundle selector.

If you tell me whether your posters are digital downloads or physical/POD, and whether bundles can be mixed sizes or must be the same size, I can suggest the simplest variation setup and the exact wording to use in the personalization box.
