Can I put only certain Etsy listings on vacation mode without pausing my whole shop?

Anonymous • in 2 days • 1 answer

I run an Etsy shop with multiple products, but I’m temporarily waiting on supplies for a few specific items.

Is there a way to pause or hide only those listings while keeping the rest of my shop active, or does Etsy only allow vacation mode for the entire shop?

Hi! Etsy’s Vacation Mode is an all-or-nothing switch for your entire shop, so you can’t put only certain Etsy listings “on vacation” while keeping the rest active. What you can do is pause just those specific items by making those listings inactive (deactivated), while leaving your other listings active and still selling.

Here are the best options for pausing only a few products:

  • Deactivate the listing (recommended): Shop Manager → Listings → select the items → Deactivate. They’ll disappear from your shop and search, but you can reactivate them anytime.
  • Let it sell out / set inventory to zero (if you use quantities): If your listing is set up with quantity tracking, setting the quantity to 0 will effectively make it unavailable (how it displays can vary depending on listing type).
  • Increase processing time (only if you still want orders): If supplies will arrive soon and you’re okay taking orders, extend the processing time for just those listings so buyers get an accurate ship date.

If you tell me whether those items are “made to order” or ready-to-ship (and whether you’re using variations with separate quantities), I can suggest the cleanest setup so you don’t lose momentum in Etsy search while you’re waiting on supplies.
