Send a private Etsy message thanking them (totally fine—just don’t overdo it). A simple one-liner is perfect, and you can include a small thank-you coupon code if you want, without pressuring them.
For future orders, you can also add a friendly post-purchase “Message to Buyers” (your automatic note) that thanks customers—this is a nice, low-pressure way to show appreciation without needing to message each person manually.
