Why is Etsy changing the ship date on labels I buy in the app?

• Time zone/date mismatch on your phone/tablet: If your device time zone is wrong, or you’re traveling, or “Set Automatically” is off, Etsy can treat “today”/“tomorrow” differently and a label can appear to be on an earlier date than you expected.
• Buying labels late at night: Near midnight, “tomorrow” can flip depending on how Etsy is interpreting the day boundary, and then when you come back later it can seem like the ship date is earlier.
• You didn’t download the PDF right away: Etsy allows you to re-download until the ship date, but once that date passes, you’ll be forced into the refund/rebuy loop even if the package never shipped.

1. Download (save) the label PDFs immediately after purchase (same session), and print from the saved file later. Don’t rely on “I’ll come back and print tomorrow.”
2. Double-check your device time zone (set to automatic) before batch-buying labels.
3. Avoid setting the ship date too tight if you know you might not print until later—give yourself a cushion and/or do your label run earlier in the day.
4. If you use USPS SCAN forms, try to keep “buy labels + SCAN form + handoff” on the same day, because SCAN form rules can also make date handling feel unforgiving when you’re batching.
